Forum updates

I added a new plugin which allows a thread's original poster to edit the first post indefinitely with no time limit. I have to activate it on a per-forum basis, but I thought this would be really useful in the Events forum, that way the OP can update information, dates, attendees, etc. Can anybody think of another forum where I should activate this plugin?

NOTE: This only works for the text of the post, not the thread title. If you want the thread title changed, one for your friendly well-paid CAJ staff members will have to do it. :thumbup:
 
I've been doing some optimization to try and speed up the forum. If you see anything that doesn't work or look right, please let me know.

I updated the server software and vBulletin. Please check everything out and let me know if you see any issues that need to be resolved.
 
I finally figured out what was going on with the forum's email sender-outer (yeah, I made that up)...so the 'contact us', thread update subscriptions, and other forum-based emails should be working now.
 
I also added a 'mentions' plugin which allows you to call a particular person's attention to a post by adding an @ sign before their screen name. Say for instance, I wanted claydo to read this post, I would simply type [MENTION=82]claydo[/MENTION] and he will get a notification that he had been mentioned

[MENTION=296]TheDavel[/MENTION] is a douchebag? what if the mention is in a forum section that that particular member doesnt have access to? ruh row!

I added a post stencil to new threads in the classifieds section. This will help remind people of the required information to use in 'for sale' threads

You're welcome :shrug:

I also made the shout box a tiny bit bigger, fixed it to where it shows up on the Live Feed, and made it full-screen when you go into detached mode
 
For those of us who like to check in from work, but don't want to look like we're goofing off, I added a couple of new themes: Outlook and AS/400
