    Re: storm checkin

My buddy is a storm spotter and does the HAM radio thing. He saw I was about to get a direct hit and blew up my phone until I woke up. I got dressed and put my shoes on to step out back to see what was going on. Apparently it had touched down right at my back door and only got stronger before it leveled Vilonia and Mayflower. I know some people a few miles from here that had some damage. Here at Pinnacle and in the surrounding valley tornadoes rarely touch down out here. They usually just skip over us. Last time one touched down here in the valley it tore a lot of stuff up and that was back in '82. By the time I knew what was going on it was already past me and headed n/ne.
They might say "don't try this at home" but nothing about not trying it at your friend's house.

Glad you made it thru ok. That storm was a big one and the damage and loss of life it left behind is just unspeakable.
