Seriously, I have this rather mint condition Rockford Fosgate T1500 bdcp that I purchased off someone last year with a minty T600 too. My intention originally was to use it with a pair of Sundown SA12 subwoofers in a giant ported box just for the fun of it but then I had a change of plans, sold the SA12 I had, and purchased an AudioFrog GB12 which sounds amazing. I did try the T1500 bdcp once on the singe SA12 with a low gain setting and immediately noticed a change for the better in terms of better sounding bass over the Infinity K1000 that was originally running the SA12. Rockford Fosgate constant power tech is the real deal!
My current sub stage setup includes that GB12 D2 in a net 1.8 cu ft ported box tuned to 31.5 Hz and it sounds really really good. I don't dare try the singe GB12 with the RF 1500 bdcp for fear that it might blow it up as the GB12 seems to barely handle the Infinity K1000 wired into 4 Ohms for about 700 watts RMS (13.8 volts). I could get stupid and purchase another GB12 D2 and wire it in parallel for a 2 Ohm load but this amplifier might be too much even for those together. Ive been modeling various 15" subwoofers like the FI Q series, BL series, and various others against dual GB12 subwoofers and even triple 10" subwoofers but none seem to come across as all that impressive.
Looking for thoughts/ideas from those with experience or maybe I just sell it before I go spending tons of money. I'm limited to about 3-3.5 cubes (4 tops) in box size and will have to upgrade the 4 gauge power wiring if I want to feed this beast with the 200 + amps it will likely demand at some point. I'm thinking it might be kind of fun to go with a way overkill high power 15, dual 12, or triple 10 setup tuned low for SQ but with enough SPL to do some hair tricks just for the fun of it and then sell it off before the wife kills me, lol.
Just brain storming here for the fun of it.
