    Notloudenuf's Mercury Milan Build

This is my 2006 Mercury Milan. I pretty much loved this car while I had it. Minimalist Milan sums up my approach to the system. The equipment I used had been accumulated over my 15 or so years in car audio. It has all seen at least 2 cars, some of it 3. I’ll cut to the chase and post the final iteration of this build. I went through a few different pieces of equipment some of which made improvements others that did not.

    Final Equipment List:
Head unit – Alpine CDA-9887 (all crossovers, EQ, and TA are handled solely by this unit)
Front stage - Diamond Audio M661 6.5" component set (active)
    Rear fill - none
    Sub - Diamond Audio M5 12" SVC
Amp for front – Arc KS 300.4
Sub amp – Arc KS 300.2

I don’t have a nice equipment shot to start with but I guess I could take a picture of all the equipment currently stacked in my closet.
    On to the build pics

    The car

    The factory fronts

The only way to make adapters

FYI those t-nuts will rust like a sumbish

    The empty trunk

The amp rack that goes under the rear deck

This is where the amp rack will go. You can see one of the original amps I had in there PPI PC275. Second pic shows the Alpine MRV-T757 that was the sub amp.

Not sure if I got a pic of the final amps in but here’s one on there

The factory HU and the 9887

Here’s what it all sounded like

This is the end of the Minimalist Milan build log. It has been a fun ride and well worth the time and effort. I have learned so much by "building" this car and talking and listening to all of you out there who had a part in making this happen.

The Milan was sold. I was not driving it and could no longer justify letting it sit in my side yard. The gear was pulled out and a few pieces were sold but most of it is back in my closet for my next build in whatever car whenever that will be.

Thanks to all of you that followed along and thanks for all the kind words from the people who have listened to it over these last 4 years.

    Until next time;

I had a demo of this thing several years ago, and I remember coming away impressed.......fingers crossed hoping this is a precursor to another buildlog!
