Sure. You COULD do it all, it's more complicated. So I'm just suggesting to learn - don't.

They are all easy separately. If you are trying to learn, to get comfortable - don't.

I like the logic of following history - going back to the time before time alignment - we had plenty of good stuff back then so I'm considering it more optional than the others

But there's other logic that could be applied, sure.

The real point is to take something that seems overwhelming or even thinking you need someone else to help - and make it simpler. Narrow the scope. Just initially set it up with Xovers. Call it a day. Let it sink in "that wasn't hard". It'll be easier to come back and do EQ, you'll have confidence to tackle EQ.

Or time alignment.

Just no need to make it overwhelming. It's easy when you tackle them separately.
