    New IB subs.

So I'm still looking to replace the Pyles in my IB setup. I really liked the way the Tantric LDs looked but they run out of xmech at 20hz on 900 watts. I want something with a bit more throw and better efficiency to make use of it.

I met a local guy that sources different parts and builds custom subs. So we got to rapping about some IB 15s.

    Here's what he suggested:
He could use the xbl^2 motors from these:

He also suggested using a lighter aluminum coil and a stiffer surround and similar spider to bring the Q back up and perhaps gain a little sensitivity.

A pair of them will run me $400. What do you guys think?

I think he can get it up to around .5-.6 which is perfect.

    20 hz, 900 watts, Xmax, or Xmech/Xlim ?

looks like plenty of get down if you've got any cabin gain going on.

those SDX are pretty beasty looking, too bad you can't go with some Aura NS series or whatever.

I'd like to have them by next year...

Besides. There are subs with a lot more throw and it might be an sq car but I like to get loud too.
