2016 Chevy Silverado Duramax
I have been posting some of my progress on a different forum and I wanted to get a thread going and show you guys what I have been doing.
Right around when the pandemic started I decided that I couldn’t take the Bose system any longer. I have always had nice systems in my vehicles and when I bought this truck brand new I tried to tell myself that I was going to leave it stock. I made it a month before I started upgrading. But I did make it almost 4 years with the stock system.
I have been researching and buying gear, then selling and buying more gear for the last year. I have finally figured out what I am going to put in (I think) and got started with the install. So here is what I am doing and will update with pictures along the way.
Stock head unit
Pac amppro with toslink
Minidsp 8x12DL
2- Mmats Hifi 6150’s- one left and one right- 4x150 + 1x1000 each
Scanspeak 3004’s in Valicar pods in the A-pillars
Xcelsus XXM325’s in the stock dash location
Dynaudio MW172’s in the doors
CDT Unity 8’s in the rear C-pillars
2-Audiofrog GB12d2’s in an MTI enclosure.
Here’s a couple of pictures of the truck.

Re: 2016 Chevy Silverado Duramax
Around the end of March I finished up a kitchen remodel and flooring project, so I finally got some time to start working on the install. I knew it would be slow going with two kids and summertime coming, but I work on it when I can.
Since it was going to be slow going I wanted to leave the Bose system playing as long as I could. So I started on the backseat area getting the panels off and some sound deadening done.

Up next was starting to layout the amp rack and an equipment shelf idea that I had been thinking about for a while. There isn’t a lot of space in these things, so I wanted to utilize what space I did have. The shelf was for the dsp, distribution blocks and for a spot to relocate the Bose amp. It is also the base for the amp rack, it bolts to the floor using the seat bolts and is made of .5” hdpe.

Next I cutout the amp rack and used #10 threaded inserts and stainless cap screws to bolt it together and mount everything.

That looks like some stuff you'd see on 5-Star Car Audio...very nice! Where did you get those cable tie-downs? I don't recall ever seeing those.
