    Home Speaker Refurbishment

Pretty simple query and totally noob; but I have the (attached pics) home theater fronts along with the rears and centre. Behind one pic you can see a Velodyne sub, different issue there.

However it isn’t too hard to see what my problem is...the fronts are made with 2 active speakers and 4 passive radiators (I thoroughly expect the mention of PR’s means Holmz will jump on this one ). They are a few years old (no shit) and have the photographed damage on some drivers.

I am WAY out of my depth here so any thoughts on repair would be appreciated. The whole gamut, I really don’t know anything about fixing a speaker rubber like this!

FWIW they are ‘Omni Mirage’ something or another, the fronts were $2k brand new (Aussie dollars) so they are far from junk. They’re just showing their age.

    Any suggestions appreciated gents!
    Peace

ADDITIONAL: I was quoted $150 Aussie per driver by a dude to fix them so it instantly became ‘DIY’ or ‘free to a good home’.

There are dozens of companies that offer refoam kits and it is an easy and satisfying DIY project.

When Orange County Speaker shut down that part of their business to focus on GLS Audio, they recommended Simply Speakers for speaker repair parts and service. I've replaced the deteriorating surrounds of three drivers with their kits. It is a very simple and rewarding process.
