I have AF GS25s and I had a terrible response from the passenger side so I was looking at what I messed up (quite a lot actually) in the install. It turns out the dash trim was not properly snapped in and was vibrating, had a loose speaker wire, missing gasketing tape and the plug from the OEM speaker was just banging around in there cause I forgot to tape it. Messed up big time
Anyway, I got to thinking that while it's all apart anyway, I should stuff something in the cavity under the speaker to improve the response?...Is that something that people normally do with dash speakers?
There is a metal crossmember right under the speakers and then open all around that.
I have some spare SDS Hydrophobic Melamine Foam from my previous install, or I can use some CCF or some fast ring centers (like I did for the midbass in the door) or polyfill
Any help would be greatly appreciated
