Yeah it's tasty. I'm down to my last nip of the Knob Creek single barrel. Think I will be picking up a new bottle of Rare sometime this week.

I'm heading down to Tn in the next few weeks and my ex-FIL just finished his batch of blackberry shine, a see a bottle of the good stuff in my future...:whoo:
Look what I just got in the mail!
The bottle is beautiful. I don't usually keep my whiskey bottles but I believe I'll hold on to this one. Even the cork is beautiful wood grain attached to a natural cork stopper.
My first nip is neat. The nose right off the bat smells of alcohol of course, but with hints of port. After it decants for a moment I can smell strong hints of caramel apples and subtle grapes and peaches. And maybe a little allspice..
At first the sip taste warm and buttery. It's got a silky appeal to it while you chew on it. It's not as spicy as some of the whiskey I usually drink. When you swallow you get an intense blast of buttered popcorn and plums. It is not terribly spicy throughout and very smooth with a little bit of spice and toffee on the finish. Not too sweet either. I usually don't taste all those different undertones and flavors in my whiskey but this one is deep. I feel like I can explore it like a well defined sound stage. This whiskey is rather complex.
I don't usually drink my whiskies neat, I prefer a couple cubes of ice, but I could drink this one neat all the time. I'd love for one of you guys to try it so we could compare.

nice Fric.
made me think of a nip myself, been doing without for a bit..
So I figured a nice collection of bourbons
deserved a nice place to be displayed.
$250 from a local antiques district.
I'm very proud of it. What do y'all think, good find?

you sir, are a lush! Nice display case.
I think I will have a little Macallan 12yr old to join in the fun.
Still not into scotch. But maybe my new cabinet deserves a bottle?
