I am neither a car audio guy nor a car guy really, so please bear with me.
long story short, when we bought our 2nd hand Honda Element, it came with a Kenwood DNX690... and some odd amp bolted to the rear floor.
our dog vomited on the amp and shorted it out. Fried it completely. so I removed after which time the bluetooth function no longer worked. sometime later 3 of the 4 standard OEM speakers stopped working.
after some digging in and investigation I have determined that the feeds from the "head" (the 4 pairs of wires to the speakers) are all working (by connecting a standalone speaker to each)
Also that all the speakers are working (by bypassing the internal wiring with some speaker wire to the speaker connectors.)
so I tested the wiring that runs through the car.
From the clip the radio attaches to, to the speakers wires in the doors, I only get continuity on one pair of wires, the one to the speaker that works.
which leads me to suspect that the internal wiring has somehow gone bad.
but that seems improbable - that suddenly 3 of 4 pairs of wires would go bad.
what do I do next?
is it even possible to replace that wiring that is buried in the dashboard and doors? without half disassembling the car?
