Slow basic fairly low budget build

Started a couple weeks ago, haven't made much progress between the weather & kids. Living out here in "corn country" don't help either, takes a week to get anything you can't happen to run across at farm supply or auto parts store lol

    So far I have:
    DEH-80PRS
    Boston GT-2200 & GT-2300
JBL MS-62C (nice for around the $150 I paid, not so much so if they where more)
    0 & 4 gauge Stinger HPM
    2000 series Stinger interconnects
Stinger 12 gauge pro speaker wire
2- 0 gauge to 4- 4 gauge fused distribution block
STP Gold, Bomb, & SPL04 sound deadening

I've switched my Kenwood touchscreen dvd player for a 80prs. I didn't really use it for dvd's, & flip-outs are a bit dated anyway, just happened to have had it around from my old car.

Left piece is off the inside of the door panel, right is off the door. Factory speakers where mounted at an angle & forward from the grills on the door panel.

I had some plastic signs sitting around so I used them. They're close to 1/8" thick, not the flimsy ones you usually see.

Wrapped the cables for the latch & lock with SPL04 ccf. Laid a bead of seam sealer around the edge, & started laying on 3" overlapping strips of STP Gold

Things have gone way to quickly & smoothly at this point. That can only mean it's time for Murphy to make an appearance!

Re: Slow basic fairly low budget build

So when I put the door panel back on I saw that the surround was nearly touching the grill. I had only did one side so at least I had that going for me. Even though I'd thought to include the thickness of the mounting flange & deadener, & a little room for excursion, turns out I'd overlooked the surround

Made two new, slightly shorter, baffles & sprayed them with some SEM black paint I had left from a old project

Used some of the ccf to make seals around the baffles that'd press firmly against the door panel

Zip-tied incase the adhesive gave out, ca glued at the seam. Panels went back on effortlessly & the speakers are now centered directly behind the factory grills. Sadly they can only be seen by shoving your face against them & using a flashlight. Oh well least I know it's centered in there

Got lucky & had a empty factory wire channel under the passenger side carpet! Just enough room for my 0 gauge in the driver side too, good day indeed!

I'm not to good with a camera, sorry. I soldered, heat shrank, & techflex'd the wiring harness for my head unit but didn't think to take a picture at any point. Next time it comes out I'll try to remember

2002 Stratus Coupe, I hate the thing. My cousin works at a local dealership & when my old car died it was what he could give me for the most under book value. I got him to take even less because I paid cash. That was about 4 1/2 years age so I can't complain too much
