Hi guys, I didnt have time to do much work on my car this last weeks due to work. But I am planning to continue this weekend. A quick question to the BMW car audio gurus... My car (BMW E60 520d 2009) have the standard sound system (no amplifier, with 6 speakers and no twitters) so where is the best place to take the signal from to be used as an input to my audison bit ten. I read somewhere that the underseat subwoofers are fed with an unfiltered signal (full range) is this true? so can I connect through an extension the signal that goes to the underseat subs to my audison DSP?
Thanks for your help in advance!
do you have a laptop you can use with RTA software? i recently did a test on my stock HU outputs and was surprised to find EQ filtering and crossovers. i took the stock deck output into a line output converter. then the RCA output went to the line input on a external sound card/device. then play pink noise or sweeps.
I make stuff
I do have a laptop, I dont have a line converter, I was just hoping somebody knew the answer so I dont have to do all that, I am sure people over here have done this many times, and will be able to advise me. Thanks anyway if I dont get any answer I will have to do the testing myself.
Regards.
No ideas? I would really appreciate any help.
Regards.
Sorry whino,I have no experience with bmw factory radios, or I'd chime in.......I guess the best method is to test for yerself..........sorry, I can't help ya........maybe someone can suggest one of the pro installers on here for you to pm. I'm sure someone on here has some knowledge on the matter, maybe they just don't peruse the build logs.......
Sorted, it was true the front underseat subs receive the full signal. i have done some cabling last week and booom sound. The bit ten works perfect, I am only a bit disappointed with the few outputs, so I started looking around and found the Helix DSP as a potential upgrade. Still some cable management to do and issues to sort but at least I have music. Some pics following.
So what do you guys think of the Helix DSP:

Congrats on making music!
Awesome, hearing tunes for the first time is possibly one of the best feelings in the world. At least it is for me.
