    BMW E60 520d 2009 Budget SQ

Hi, all I started this thread to post some pics of my build, I am not a pro installer I only have a handful of installs under my sleeve so my experience is quite limited, but I am willing to learn! Please give me your comments, ideas or even critics if you see I am doing something wrong/not so good?.

The build will be done over some time, since it is dependant on my budget and will like it to evolve over time to the better.

Those JBL-GTO amps were rather impressive suckers, I would suggest acquiring the remaining ones asap. People are starting to snatch them up.

Some more pics. I build this crossover rack a few weeks ago, it seemed right at the time, but I decided to save the left side for the sub and the right side of the trunk for the cap/caps if decided to add some (probably I will) Also bought wrong color of carpet.

Now the top is carpeted and with a thick Perspex under the opening, red LEDs were placed under for a nice effect! Will take a picture of this later today.

I only regret building the top from 9mm chipwood, I should have used MDF of at least 12mm. I am thinking either place some dynamat and closed cell foam under, or build another one, but then will have to be later I want to concentrate on having something making noise as fast as possible.

Some pics of the underseat midbass. My feeling is that I will eventually get them out sell them and build some midbass speaker pods and use perhaps a Dynaudio Esotecs or something similar. Or anybody have any other suggestion? I live in the UK and some times US brands are not easy to get hold of.

    Compared with BMW one:

Needed to cut some carpet to give some clearance to the speaker.

I also covered the midbass box interior with sound deadening as much as I could. Question should I add some filling (dracon, etc) to the midbass box? or perhaps some open cell foam to the bottom of it. Both?

Also I will stop taking picture with my mobile phone and get the big guns out.

Yesterday also finished one door, will do the other one on weekend (busy week), thanks to the advise I got here on how to remove the door panels.
