    What Chit said. Look into all of the alternator options for those vehicles. The Suburban "probably" has more stuff available due to its popularity.
    Excursion probably second and Navigator third.
    Of those the Navigator is my personal favorite car but make life easy for yourself.

    another questions... what is the minimum from the interior roof that my 4 - 8 inch subs need to be? I think they will have 6-7 inchs in a suburban but other SUVs it would be only a few inches

    Why are they gonna be that close to the roof? I probably don't understand the question.
    In an old install of mine I had a down firing box that only had 2" of clearance and it worked fine.
