Thread: Help adding Wi-Fi to truck

Re: Help adding Wi-Fi to truck

The gl-inet things are awesome as travel routers. I haven’t tried a usb cellular modem in them yet though. They’re usb powered, so it’d be easy to connect to a vehicle.

cell service sucks at my house. before we moved in, I had one of them connected to a neighbor’s xfinity-wifi (in wisp mode) then had it broadcast my home wifi network. This let us have cellular and internet at the house waiting for contractors and what not. Hooked up the Apple TV too, could stream stuff in as well.

I have a tplink travel router buried in my car’s center console, powered by usb. I connect my ps8-pro wifi and laptop to it for tuning. It connects (in wisp mode) to my house wifi so I can still access the internet. I plan to replace it with the gl-inet router next time I have the console apart.
