Hi res help please

I am new to hi res. I am having a new system installed. The head unit is the kenwood dxr 1057. I have a samsins s22 ultra smart phone. Should I get something like a Sony nwa 306 to download hi res music to and play it...or is my smart phone a better source? I'm trying to have it ready when my system install is done, so why I am asking at such and ignorant stage in the process.

I should add. I currently use an ipod plugged into a USB port with my library on it and leave it in the car. That is what I am used to so on that front the dap makes sense. Doesn't mean I can't convert myself to using smart phone and Bluetooth, I am just used to the other. The sont 306 is in the price range and looks like a good product but if the dap is the way to go I might be convinced to a different uniy.
