How well does acoustically treating a car improve sound quality from stereo

This is my first post so please bear with me ...

Hi guys, I have a 2015 mustang that I'm considering adding acoustical treatment to with the main goal being to improve the efficiency and clarity (particularly in the low mids/bass frequencies) of my stock stereo. The 12- speaker stock system seems to have a lot of potential but I'm noticing lots of bass rattles in the plastic door panels and trunk area that muddy up the sound. Do you guys think acoustical treatment will help with these issues and with getting the most out of my factory stereo? If so, what types of AT do you reccomend? Also, are there any other simple and inexpensive ways to improve sound quality without replacing speakers/amps? Thanks!

Absolutely! You'd be amazed what some closed cell foam and sound dampener could do to quell those clatters.
    Are you not entertained?!?!
