More changes. I like how these ones sound.

I ditched the passive crossovers and reinstalled my Rat Shack Optimus electronic crossover, and put these amps in for midrange duty:

(the board for the false floor isn't in)

Next, I got bored and decided to pull some more speaker wire into the doors to accomodate my midranges and tweeters. I wanted to put the tweeters in the sail panels and move the midranges where they weren't stupid-degrees off axis. I got the wife involved and taught her some rudimentary 'glassing skills. BTW, I suck at wrapping, she's a natural.

The red mark shows the indentation in the door frame that would nicely accomodate a Fountek FR88-EX. More duct seal around the midbasses too:

    Doorskins on and buttoned up:

The midrange grilles I'm currently working on:

The actual sail pieces I was working with are trimmed up 1999 Ford Windstar pieces from a previous vehicle, they need some fill and finish work, I need to make grilles for the midbasses, and I need to source some factory plastic for the stuff I already cut up.

I currently have it set up with the subs LPd at 80Hz/24dB, Midbass at 50Hz/12dB and 250Hz/24dB, Midrange 315Hz/24dB and 4kHz/12dB and Tweeters 4kHz/12dB. Still doing the processing with an Chad's old Alpine 9855 and the aforementioned Tandy/Optimus outboard, so I'm limited with crossover selection and my T/A is tied together on my midranges and tweeters. And no left/right EQ.

It sounds really good, better stage than I've had with drivers in the kicks or on the dash (not that I really tried very hard at either.) We'll see how I like it after a couple weeks go by.

A little more seat time: I do believe this is the best sound I've had in this vehicle.

It is a good feeling Glenn, this is an uphill battle us car-fi people fight. Now if I could get rid of the rest of the rattles...
