Funny that the SQL-15 wants 1.25cuft more than the HST-15 for ported and 1cuft more for sealed. But at the same time, you can buy 2 for the price of one HST.

I am also not sure how you would ever fit a hst-15 in 1 cu ft. It has to at least be 15.5"x15.5"x14" just due to it's size.... Overall diameter is 15.25" and depth is 13.75" with a pole vent on the back....
Those measurements sure look like a 2 cu ft minimum box to me.

well it would be 1 cuft after displacement. But I've always wondered if that is a typo for that sub.

True, I guess I am not used to such a big sub and actually needing to account for that much driver displacement in the box design.

I have 5 cu ft (NET Internal) of space that I can build in while keeping my back seat up(not folded down) I could go up to 5.5 or 6 but that would almost block out my whole rear window. The 5 cu ft box already will cover about 6 inches of it. Im going to pull my box out tomorrow and see if i can get rid of the spare tire area and use it to build a bigger box, (or just bring the 5cu ft box down a few inches. Also I just started learning winisd, and from what i can tell 1 HST 15 would be louder than 2 SQL 12s. Both in 5 cu ft tuned to 30hz. But then again I JUST started learning Winisd, and there is a good chance that I have screwed something up or dont understand what Im looking at. Im looking at the SPL graph, is that right. What is a good resource for learning the software?

Mine is a 15 and I'm holding it in Virginia (Virginia beach area) It's a bit of hike....no matter how you slice it. The sub weighs north of 80 lbs....I've been searching for potential rates for 2nd day air or something adjacent but haven't found anything.
Just to give some info on my particular sub...it's dual 1 ohm so you'd likely have to run it at 2 ohm and it only saw about 10 months of service...never competed with it, never ran it on more than 1800 watts worth of potential power. The longest it played continuously was a 3 hour drive where I leaned on it pretty hard off and on the whole trip. Any time after that it was trips to and from work (20 minute drive each way)

You can PM me if you want to know what I'm willing to let it go for....you'd likely be surprised.
