    I love a good technical explanation, and there are great arguments for one location or the other. However, I would bet after a while the super solid kick panels will remain super solid longer than the super solid door will. I'm really, really, really tired of chasing rattles in my doors. So for purely practical reasons, I would chose kicks over doors for my next install.

    (peerless sls 6.5" doing pure midbass duty like you say, crossed 60hz to 300hz to a midrange driver)
    Measure with mics, mark with chalk, cut with torch, grind to fit, sand to finish, paint to match.
