Thread: Best car for audio

    Best car for audio

Which car do you think is ‘best’ suited for audio eg speaker position, access to wiring, cabin size etc?

I like BMW but the 3 way speaker positions don’t seem ideal and running new wiring into doors seems tough on any newer car.

Fancy a Tesla or MB CLA but guess they may not be ideal either!

Would be interesting to see what everyone thinks from their own experience

    2017 Nissan Altima

9 Factory Speaker Locations (3 Dash, 4 Doors, 2 Deck) and running wires into the doors isn't too bad.

U.K. availability is also a factor in this for Si I would think

custom install or factory locations with maybe tweeters in a pillars is the question

    Indeed

I am struggling with my old Clio (running power through the bulkhead and tight engine bay mostly) and due to replace it sometime in the future with something nicer.

Factory positions would be ideal with pods for tweeters as don’t have the time for a full install. Can tinker around doing it over time.

Of the three vehicles I have the Ford F-150 wins here. I like a wide stage and the width of that truck lends itself well for that.
    Mazda CX5 AF GB10, AF GB25, AF GB60, JL VX800/8i, AF GB12 sealed, Mmats M1400.1

    Ford F150
    AF GB10, AF GB25, JLC5, JL twk88/Pioneer D8604, Mosconi Pico, JBL Club 5501, Sundown SD3-10 ported @ 30 Hz

    Sienna
    AF GB15, Audiofrog GS690, JL twk88/Pioneer D9500F, JBL GTX500, Alpine SWS10 ported @ 31 Hz

not in the U.K. it doesn’t... you’d not park an F150 lol... never mind fuel it up

mb c43 sedan and its family of cars are nice. 8" midbasses on the firewalls, 4" midrange on the top of the doors, tweeters in the sail panels, optical-out from the factory radio with a nav-tv zen output

newest mazda 3 is supposed to also have 8" midbasses on the firewall.

tesla model 3. 8s in the doors, 4s in the dash, tweeters in the sail panels.

Had to look up the new Mazda3 setup, and it looks interesting. Although not very accessible for upgrades maybe?

But the former generation has 9" (shallow) midbass drivers in the doors.
