    Yep!
Measure with mics, mark with chalk, cut with torch, grind to fit, sand to finish, paint to match.

    Do it for them.

Say you limit the wattage and play exactly 500w at 4 ohm and 2 ohm. Is the amperage consumed not the same? Does 2 ohm load have more resistance in the amp, causing it to pull more amperes?

Or does the amp run hotter because at 2ohm that speaker will get closer to 800-900w instead of 500w at 4 ohm, which means more amperes are being pulled and creating more heat?

From the output of the amp through the speaker, yes it should have the same power and heat generated. Inside the amp is where the efficiency difference comes into to play so, the components inside the amp will generate more more heat.
The power going into the amp will increase as efficiency decreases while the same power is still disapated through the speaker.
    Meh, it'll play.

500w at four ohms is roughly 44.8v and 11.2a

500w at two ohms is roughly 31.5v and 15.75a

so the current increase will put the output gets closer to working limits and the heat generated will be more I would think, even though the power is identical between the two... the input stages will be approx the same although efficiency does drop so even there the 2ohm setting may draw more current and make more heat also
