I just received the DAYTON cabinets from P-E and since I will be using the "small format" version of the SB tweeter, I will have to fab 2 rings to adapt them to the cabinet's pre-machined opening.
The SB woofer has a slightly wider flange than the cabinet's factory relief..so I will need to rabbet out the flange area, also.

Also, Dayton used 1-5/8" x 6" ports. I was able to pull them out and replace them with central vacuum pvc tubing which has 1-7/8 id x 8" to reduce port noise and get the tune I need.

how did we go from home speakers to scooters ?
And we're back...
This was my first attempt to fab adapter rings that incorporated a 3mm thick lip. Well H-Depot MDF sux salty balls....
The shit de-laminates wa-a-a-ay too easily, so I used some 1/8" hardboard and a 3/8" thick poplar strip that I had on hand and made a 2 piece adapter that I glued in place with Weldbond PVA.
I also found some 2" (id) cardboard mailing tube at Staples and used that to modify the port dimensions.
Tomorrow I will make a template to use as a guide to enlarge the opening to accommodate the slightly larger SB woofer.
