    JBL GTO20M or Infinity 20MX 2" Mid-range...anyone using these?

    Hello!

Now that I have an additional 4 channels (found a steal of a deal on another new PDX-V9) to work with, I'm more than likely going to upgrade my front-stage this Fall to a full active 3-way set-up.

Curious, does anyone here use either the JBL GTO20M or Infinity 20MX 2" dome mid-range?

I found a great deal on a pair of the GTO20M's, so thinking about pulling the trigger now so I have them when I'm ready to upgrade.

Would love to hear your thoughts. These would be mounted in the stock dash locations of my Ram 1500 firing up into the windshield. So far, the GTO329 coaxials perform great in the stock locations. Thinking these will too!

I have not had any personal experience with them but they are on my short list of future midrange drivers i want to try. I have heard nothing but good things about the infinity one. I hear that they are different, not sure the extent of the differences but I would go for the infinity one if you can swing it... its generally harmans higher end line in comparison to JBL. But i have heard great things about both. If you try them out let us know what you think. I know they can cross down to 500hz..

Are the Infinity Kappa Perfect 300m on the list? I've always been interested in those.

I've had the 20MX for a couple years now, first in the kick panels in my A4 and now in the doors of the Volvo. I'm happy with them, they play plenty loud, IIRC I have them crossed at 800Hz. They can get pretty harsh but nothing that EQ cannot fix, pretty nice little speaker for the price IMO.

Chithead, I was looking at these too, but going with the GTO20Ms because of a great price I was offered from am eBay seller.

Maybe down the road I'll pick these up too just to try out, but only if I can find a good deal. Lol!

There is no doubt in my mind that JBL produces solid speakers. The GTO329 and GTO939 coaxial I'm currently using sound great! I've never ran with a 3-way front-stage before so would like to try it out and learn how to properly tune for it.

I think that would be an amazing midrange to use! Definitely anxious to see them installed and hear (read) your impressions.
