We carried the RE SEX and SX lines at work. The SEX10 and 12 are some of my favorite budget subs.

I'm sure its been recommended to you but Mic/Mic10is is an insane resource for all things BMW Audio. He's dismantled and reassembled more BMW's than they have in Bavaria.

    I'm still doing stuff.
Finally figured out how to get the rear bumper off.

    Looking weird

Bondo here and spot putty there

I think I can get a first coat of paint on it tonight.

Progress for the weekend. Filled and sanded everything. I only had 1 can of color match so I bought an AutoZone universal jet black can to cover the bondo and primer. didn't think it was worthwhile to "waste" the good paint just covering up the primer. It look the whole can of jet black to cover the primer and then the whole can of color match to paint the bumper. No bad interactions between the two different paint brands, so that was nice.

I'm pretty sure this is the first coat of clear

One (of many) noob mistake was going out there this morning to sand out some runs and spray the last bit of clear and the humidity and temp was so different from inside the garage to outside the paint sweated out from under itself. It looked terrible. Here's the best picture that showed how bad it was.

On the stereo side I did get the Pioneer in the dash. There aren't any speakers hooked up yet so it'll just be window dressing until I get further with that.

I fought with dash and kit for 2 hours and I'll have you know I only cried for 20 minutes.

No pictures but I installed a new windshield cowl cover and windshield seal. Looks much better as those showed 19 years of sun damage.

Cool updates. Check out Benny Z's build log on diyma.
My wife has an 02 330i she competes with and as her daily driver.
Don't waste your time with stock locations. They suck. Not worth the trouble.
You can get 3" in dash or a 2" would be easier.
Then do midbass in kick panels.
Plenty of room in kicks after u remove some metal.

And personally I've never had good luck w bondo spot filler.
It always lifts off the panel once temps start to fluctuate.

If you need help or some ideas on the car, just ask...as Chefhow said...I know the E36 and 46 better than most when it comes to audio.

While you're on maintenance...make sure to do coolant expansion tank.

The 50skid on youtube is a great resource for repair video info.

The back of the box will be the amp rack. I covered it in trunk liner first and then black vinyl.

Found some good color match to the factory trunk liner the color is called "Silver"

    Looks like a ghost

    In the car

I thought the amps turned out good when they're mounted

I also got some Noico in the mail this week for the doors. Might have some tunes pretty soon.

I'm gonna finish the trunk out before I pull the doors apart. I have the sides scribed and will cut and carpet the flush mount amp rack covers tomorrow.

Why is the sewer piped into your sub box?

Looking good, especially the back side of sub box

The masking tape that holds the sewer pipe in place is what really sets it off
