Alpine Swr-t10 10-Inch 1800 Watt 4 Ohm Shallow Mount Subwoofer

been eye balling these I currently have an nvx 1700.1 on 2 skar vd-10.4 prefab box at .65 cubes a side
been running the skars for 2 years
specs are similar in power handling but 1 4 inch voice coil and 15mm xmax in a shallow mount
yeah technically going to 2ohm by amp specs and dyno I lose 400 watts dont think that will be much compared to the other specs

what do you guys/gals think? I found a pair new for $550

Wouldn't hesitate for one second to run those Alpine shallow subwoofers. They work very well, and are quite enjoyable for listening.
    Are you not entertained?!?!

How do you lose 400 watts by going from 4ohm to 2ohm?

That is less than 1db difference. To get 3db difference you would have to go down to 850w. So in other words, you wouldn't notice any difference power wise.

Those subs were on my short list for my MTI box. It was between those, the tw3, ilussion c12's (which from reading are very similar to those alpines), and the SI's I went with. I just got too good of a deal on 2 SI' BM MKV's.
2014 F150 Limited -> Kenwood DDX-9907xr -> Helix DSP.2 -> Alpine PDX-V9 -> SI M25 mki in Valicar Stuttgart Pods, Rear SB17's, Sub SI BM MKV's in MTI BOX. Alpine PDX-F6 -> SI Tm65 mkIV, SI M3 mkI in Valicar Stuttgart Pods

Re: Alpine Swr-t10 10-Inch 1800 Watt 4 Ohm Shallow Mount Subwoofer

alright I got to say I do like these swr-t10 but they are very hungry I think the 1300-1400 watts at 2 ohm is ok but I think they want more
they sound incredible in my pre-fab box the skar vd-10 fit in the box but it was too small a box to use the port so I sealed it and they were very happy on 1700 watts
    I am running nvx 1700.1
these fit the box and the ported size is a match for the specs so I uncorked the port
nice and deep tones Im liking them alot they seem a little muddy at 80hz so I use 63hz and the bass has a nice feel
I just feel like they want more sigh ok amp upgrade in a few months

Re: Alpine Swr-t10 10-Inch 1800 Watt 4 Ohm Shallow Mount Subwoofer

ok its been few years since I got new woofers
man they were tight breakin is a wonderful thing!
I love these woofers!! the skars were good and filled the truck easily but these are a whole other level.
They are in the same box I resealed it .6 cube but these are so much lower. Alot lower and crisp.
gave me new interest in my audio.
    Seriously that much better!
