I was invited here by Al9000, met him on another car audio forum recently.
I recently got bitten again by the high-end car audio bug, which I haven't followed since around 1995. Back in the day, 1988 to be exact, I invested in my first high-end car audio system. Alpine Cassette Radio w/separate Alpine CD Only. Front Stage was A/D/S 320i, powered by Denon DCA-3400. Subs were two Kicker 12's, powered by a Linear 2002! Added pieces over the next 7 years until I graduated college and my hobbies changed.
I have a 15 yr old son who will be getting a Mustang in a year and is getting interested in car audio. Having discussions with him, I was challenged to assemble a system for my truck that would rival my home system. I took him up on the challenge and started researching a few months ago, lot of catching up to do. As I always seem to do, I've decided to invest heavily into components that will stand the test of time and I can enjoy for many years!
I joined several forums the past couple of months and it was on MAF where I got the idea to build a CarPuter from WEST! One of my other hobbies is WaterCooling and OverClocking PC's, I started a forum focusing on that hobby back in 2008. I'm planning on implementing a lot of what I've learned the past 5 years into my CarPuter. Also going to enlist many of them to assist in debugging any problems that arise to make this thing work and be stable!
I look forward to sharing my ideas and build with this community over the coming months! These are exciting days and I'm glad to be a part of this community! Many thanks to Al for the invite!
Oh, my name is Joel.
