The "with a little work" is key. As long as you know that and just that you have to get those doors working like - or with - enclosures, and aren't afraid to chase down rattles - sounds like an awesome plan and I hope to see pics.

Yeah I know it'll definitely take a bunch of work chasing out all the vibrations. I did a ton of research last night. Found the (I think) CEO of Audio frog on DIY and his posts had a ton of good info on midbass null, phase, beaming, reflection etc. Also from others that run Hybrid Audio saying the drivers need IB and don't perform nearly as well enclosed. Also I went to a local shop here in Eugene that has an xB specialist. Apparently the guy has owned 7 of them and swears by mounting a 4 inch in the factory dash location with the tweeters in the a-pillars facing each other off axis. He says with proper deadening and solid mounting that I won't get any better for staging, depth, beaming etc. I was skeptical because of all the amazing pillar work I've seen online in SQ cars but after more research I think he could be right. That said, it's looking to be the easiest way to get hooked up and going with the least amount of fabrication. Plus it won't look so obvious if people peek in the window. Not that I give a shit lol. I'm super excited. I'm going to order up all the stuff I need at the beginning of the month and get it put together. Front stage, sound deadening and electrical. After that I'll be looking into a DSP which I have zero experience with.
