So I'm struggling with the wheels on the old truck. I just had put those C5 wagon wheels on the truck the day before I took that picture above. Fronts are 17's and rears are 18's. I CANNOT stand that the front tires have a taller sidewall than the rears, they are all the same height overall, but the fronts have an extra 1" of rubber overall. DON'T LIKE.
Before the C5's I had ZR-1 wheels with 17x11 rears and all, they were replica's.
I liked those wheels OK, not great. The silver paint on the truck is 96 Corvette Collectors Edition silver, and I painted it specifically that color because it's supposed to match the wheels. Since the ZR-1's were replica's the color didn't match the silver. The C5 wheels do match the silver very well.
So I'm debating three options:
Getting smaller tires, with matching sidewall height, for the fronts that are on it.
Getting another pair of 18" wheels and matching sidewall height tires.
Using this other set of wheels that I have, all 17's. 2000 Camaro SS.
At one time I had 6 sets of wheels for this truck. Just can't get a set on it that I like. There have been days I wish I would have left it all black and got some Torque Thrusts and been done.
Any opinions?
Wheel styles that I have had on it at one time other than the two pictured above.
The current wheels look good on it, I would get another pair of 18'' and tires. Looks great overall.
Very nice choice
I do agree about the tint.
Are you not entertained?!?!
Make it different intentionally, then.Hard to match that 85 model mirrored rear glass though.
