Good jigsaw and a fresh blade will tame that mesh no problem. I’d test outside the cut area with a couple different tools and see which one works best for you.
-edit- you posted above as I was writing this. Sounds like you got it!

Weird day today I made a little progress:
This metal rips through these cut off wheels:
But, a nice fine line:
I think I went through 9 cut off wheels total:
Sharp crisp edges:
Take off sharp edges the easy way:
Polish it up a little better
Good enough fit. The grill is 1/16th" undersized. However, this may work out ok.
To be continued...

Now secure everything down with silicon adhesive:
I was trying to wrap things up and move onto the next step tonight when I got a desperate call from my son. My 15yo had an accident on a kids Razor scooter across the neighborhood and cut an 8" gash in is leg to his bone. I'm covered in metal shavings and saw dust. My car is ripped to pieces including no door panels. Factory trim sitting in the back seat.
I grabbed a bunch of towels and duct tape I had close at hand for my build and took off. He bled all over my front seat and left hunks of fat tissue on my floor mat. Thank god to rubberized winter floor mats that I never took out. Christ. One road block after another...

Hope he's okay. Still at the hospital I bet, I'm thinking 50+ stitch count.
Actually 93 stiches and 6 hours in the ER. Actually improving his results. Last December his little brother slammed a glass door his face. He stuck his arm out to stop it and it went right through the glass. 120+ stitches in 3 layers in two locations on his wrist. 9 hours in the ER. There was some nerve damage. Tonight he just sliced through skin and fat thank god.
Still, kinda gross picking fatty tissue off his scooter and my car. Brapp!!!
Between my dog barfing in the front seat and my kid bleeding I have not had much luck with this car yet... I should just sell my Posche and buy a fucking cheap Chevy...

That's a tough one, god to hear things are getting corralled back together. Put it in perspective, the Porsche is an inanimate object you can only it so much, but you'd give your life for your son. I'd be thrilled to pick fat tissue off my car mats instead of having to hold his head together because he didn't wear a helmet and the gray matter was exposed. Yeah I know a little far fetched, maybe gross for some, and we all get a little pissy when our kids interrupt our "me" time, but the main thing is, he's got another day to enjoy that scooter. And you will have a kick ass sounding Porsche that you can drive him to the skate park with.
So sorry to hear about your son's accident and injury. Very happy to hear that he's doing okay. He's young and will heal, though will bare that scar as a reminder. Hopefully he wasn't doing something stupid (my nephew...SMH) that put him in that situation. Kids will be kids though!
I was fortunate growing up to not have too many accidents as sever as your son's, but I had some friends who always seemed to be in the hospital, in a cast, or running around in stitches. Some folks are more accident prone than others, or so it seams.
By the way, really enjoying your build thread! I'm learning some techniques I'll use when I begin building my custom speaker baffles for my doors. Right now I am using the factory location, though had to modify it a bit to fit my speakers. Can't wait to get in there and finish sound damping and reinforcing the factory mounting locations with some 1/2" HDPE baffles.
I may have missed this, but are you sealing the baffle board and using your spare-tire well in an infinite baffle application?
