    I received a few toys in the mail today. This one will replace my brain dead Zapco DC Reference 500.1 for subwoofer duties. It will deliver 645W to my 10" sub. That should be more than adequate. Maybe add a 2nd sub?

    The amp is larger than I expected but I can still fit it on an amp rack where the factory sub used to sit. And oh my God is this thing heavy. I was going to mount it to a 1/4" HDPE back plate with two fastening points. I may need to rethink this. Now I wish I had a welder...

    Here is another cool toy. I am so excited to try out my new selection of router bits on a router table. Does brand affiliation have anything to do with my Job ?

    The only thing is I needed to clean up this old nasty Craftsman router table I had stored in my garage for 10+ years. My son left a bag of ice melting salt on top of it. Moisture hit and the bag leaked. The built in router was seized up. So I bought a new one. Now all I need to do is clean this up so it will be functional enough for light router work.

    After all this work I soon realized this table does not have standard mounting patterns. I can't bolt my dang router to it! That and the material is so thin I can't drill and countersink new holes. DRATS!!!. I didn't want to spend another 3 or 4 days building a new one so ordered this:

    I might have missed this earlier, but have you messed with the SD4 much? I had a SD3 in the camry and loved it to death, it sounded extremely good for a slim sub..

    I have not. I'm about to. I started to evaluate it but then my sub amp failed. I just got the new sub amp. Hopefully I will be hooking it up and trying today.

    Hopefully you like it. I unfortunately have not yet had a chance to listen to a tw3, nor do I own my SD-3 anymore, but I would buy a SD-4 in a hearbeat after owning the SD-3 haha.

    @Ge0

    Please let me know how you like the Bosch 1617 Router Combo - I too am a Bosch fan and I'm looking at picking up that same combo kit.
    Eager to hear your feedback.

    I own both the router and table you chose to go with. They work well. Just make sure you get that plate aligned correctly!!

    That's the first thing that I did. It cuts nicely.

    Top tip so you don’t need a backer board:

    set the plunge depth so you cut your rings 1/16” short or so. Then buzz around the ring. No gouges from when the ring frees, because the ring doesn’t get free.. Then, turn the part over and cut through with a utility knife. Then trim the flashing on the table router, or using your trim router.

    that trick, plus a plunge base, plus a sharp upcut spiral bit, results in a 1-pass main cut perfectly round.

    GeO,

    If you don't mind sharing, where did you get your router bits? Also, is it better to use an upward cutting or downward cutting, or does it depend on how soft or hard of a material? I am still learning how to use my router table.

    Thanks for any guidance!

    Whiterabbit, I will definitely give the method you describe a shot!!
