Hello from an old school guy from the south

Hello. I'm from Alabama and I've been a car audio fan since 1984. I haven't worked at an audio shop or anything like that but I've installed and used quite a bit of gear over the years. I've also been fortunate to travel the world and see how folks do audio in their parts of the planet. I'm not very up to date with modern Car Audio designs and the integration of DSP's and I prefer old amp designs. For those reasons, I'm here. I want to get back in touch with the Car Audio world.

Welcome. I too started my car audio experience in the mid '80's, and kept up with it well into the 2000's. As you said, things have changed. Frankly, IMHO for the better. Have fun, and don't rule out the newer equipment...

Re: Hello from an old school guy from the south

    G’day
I’m a little the same...dabbled with car audio here and there but it was always only a hobby. I’ve been out of car audio for probably 3-ish years (been back for maybe 3-4 months?) and just in that time the changes have been pretty crazy. Unfortunately one thing always seems to remain the same though...there is so much misinformation (or just straight out lies for the sake of profiteering) that you really have to come to the right places to get reliable information from guys who give a shit and are happy enough to help out decent peeps. I’m not the sharpest but I try to help if I can; definitely the other guys here that are well smarter than me seem to have the same approach
    Cheers
