Optimal sealed enclosure size for a AuraSound NS12-794-4A?

I’ve been trying to come up with an optimal sealed enclosure size for my AuraSound 12" NS12-794-4A and 10" NS10-513-4A for car installations. I’d like to see how they sound and want to test them in my Land Cruiser for now. If I can make it work, I may want to try it in my X6.

For Home I built very solid, heavily braced sealed enclosures at the size AuraSound recommended for home use. I could just test them in these enclosures but based on what I’m learning I may want smaller enclosures.

    I have two ea. AuraSound - 10" NS10-513-4A in 1 cubic foot sealed box’s and one Aurasound - 12" NS12-794-4A in a 2 cubic foot sealed box.

AuraSound made mobile versions of these drivers for a time and many seemed to think they were the same driver but the specs are different based on the links I’ll include below.

The MR-10.4 & MR-12.4 are the mobile version model names.

    And their Recommended nominal enclosure:

    10.4: sealed=0.61, ported=0.87 cu. ft.

    12.4: sealed=1.46, ported=2.19 cu. ft.

Would 1.5 cubic foot sealed be the optimal enclosure size for a NS12-794-4A?

    Thanks

Re: Optimal sealed enclosure size for a AuraSound NS12-794-4A?

Just for giggles I will try what I have already built for now while still not sure what the optimal volume should be or if it makes much difference. Making different boxes is not a problem if needed.

The enclosures I built are fine for home use but with all the bracing and a hardwood fascia on the 12", a bit larger and heavier than I would like for a car.

The 12" is in the oak with front firing driver, the 10" is the black enclosure and the end table style with a picture on it is an 18" NCM Leviathan, a driver based on the Aura 18". I have no intention of trying the 18" in my car.

The unfinished enclosure showing the bracing is the 2 cubic foot box used for the 12". The slim .8 cubic foot enclosure is for a JL Audio 12TW3-D4. That is what I will likely have in the car most of the time.
