    center question

If the goal is to have the center image in the middle of the hood, isn't that essentially a 2 seat tune?

Not necessarily. With a DSP, you could delay the left channel to where both channels arrive at the same time and appear to be coming from the middle, but a person in the passenger seat wouldn't hear the same delay.

...of course tuning is not that simple, but it's the basic premise...

    Re: center question

An ideal two seat tune is where two people can sit at the same time in the car and both hear a centre from the centre of the car, if this is achieved with time alignment for the drivers seat and involves adding delay to the drivers side drivers it is heard the same for the passenger, except in reverse so the passengers centre image is now around the passenger side driver from experience due to delay still being added to the drivers side driver, so definitely not a two seat tune
