liking the look of the floating kenwood head unit, nice volume knob curious to know the price of these.

that alpine staggered 6 channel amp looks nice, too.

Are they? It doesn't appear to have any of the up-mixing (DTS/Dolby PLII) capabilities of their previous offerings.

I noticed that as well. Finally offer a DSP that has the amount of channels you need to do it right and they appear to take about the processing ability.....

On the Alpine DSP, I think their intent is something capable of piggy-backing OE systems. Take in all the channels as "pass thru" with the EQ/tuning adjustments layered on top through the Alpine. This could actually be a workable solution in my wife's car where I plan to retain the factory upmixer.

    Re: CES 2020

Morel posted some pretty cool stuff on their FB page. Not a whole lot of detail yet.

They haven't provided any information beyond the pics that I have seen. If I had to guess... 250W x 2 @ 2 Ohms class AB. Maybe even a non-bridgeable dual mono?

    Elate Carbon 9"

Someone also posted some photos of a new Carbon Integra 4" on their page that looked really interesting, but it looks like it has been scrubbed? I'm sure we'll get to see more pics and info over the next couple of days.

Doesn't the 16 channel Alpine DSP in China have the upmixing capabilities?

When I looked through the manual it looked like it was simply a matrix mixer with a ton of different preset input and output configurations. Nothing that I saw indicated that it had a true upmixer built in. Certainly nothing licensed.

Edit: I just downloaded the app in iOS and ran through the configuration wizard. Seems like center is simple L+R. Unless there is some magic happening in the background, unseen by the end user. (Unlikely.)

    Re: CES 2020

No pretty pictures to post, but some information on new product distribution in the US is becoming public.

ARPA looks to be taking over US distribution for the following brands in 2020...
    Zapco Amplifiers
    ESB Speakers
    Tchernov Cables
    AudioWave Amplifiers
    Dynaudio Speakers
    More to come...

This is straight from Scott Welch's (SQHemi) post on FB.
