Re: A Different Sort of Build Thread

Today I took the car out for some tuning. No not audio tuning, performance tuning. Just like with audio tuning, there is software that allows you to make changes to the engine computer and transmission computer/controller (if you have one).

Trying to do this while on the highway can be quite challenging because of the RPMs (2000-4000) and speeds involved. Thankfully I was able to get enough usable data to make some positive changes to the way the car runs. I'll be at it again tomorrow after I visit the GZ warehouse. Maybe Monday I'll work on the audio stuffs again.

Re: A Different Sort of Build Thread

Just a bit of an update in case you were curious.

I've made two trips over 500 miles in the car. I had once incident, that wasn't mechanical (the alternator died on me). Other than that the car has been running smooth as silk.

Yesterday got the car on the dyno for some WOT tuning. I just didn't feel comfortable doing WOT pulls on the street. Something about flashing lights and handcuffs just kept nagging at me. Unfortunately with all of the travel I've been doing, I didn't have a chance to take it to the track where I could have done WOT tuning as well. Sorry no final numbers this go round. My main goal this time was to get MAF high and WOT tuning done.

An interesting note. With traction control turned off, I have absolutely no traction when I hit the throttle. Oh my goodness do I love that. I see a couple of driving schools in my future...LOL

This is how I will think about your car. Its great to hear you are enjoying the fruits of your labor.
