And back to the remote housing... I think it's starting to take shape.

    Stainless steel face plate:

Wrapped in vinyl upholstery that is close enough to the Jeep's center console.

I think that solid aluminum knob is the right one...

    Finished up the remote housing...

    Shaped the faceplate:

    Test fit

Looks just like the cardboard template!

Wrapped it in matte black vinyl

I glued the faceplate to the housing with E6000

    It's simple, but clean imho

I am happy with the fit-n-finish, it turned out pretty clean

    Thanks guys!

The more I look at it, the more I think it looks a little plain and could use a little more aluminum for contrast...

The Jeep has quite a bit of aluminum trim in the dash, so I might mimic some of that.

Love the fit and finish. I do agree it could use a little more utilitarian bling. Maybe outline the remote housing with aluminum strips with a strip going across it right above where it bends below the remote. I think a little will go a long way here. Biggest thing is making it look like it came that way from the factory.
They might say "don't try this at home" but nothing about not trying it at your friend's house.

Hmmm, I didn't think about that... Good idea.

I thought about doing something similar to my 2016 Wrangler, and adding trim around the buttons...

David, I wish I had even half of yours and others' immense creative drive.
