The subs have arrived unharmed from across the land! I have also done a bit of a swapsie with a couple of st-4sq I had kicking about for a hybrid audio U1A as it will be about right for a pair of dual 2 ohm subs in IB... the frame is currently being knocked up to be welded into the wheel well and then a large hole cut out

so the plan is as follows... unity amp at the very rear most edge of the boot (infront of the latch), a pair of inverted twelves in a manifold at each rear corner of the boot, lithium pack in the centre between manifold and seat as low down as possible...

then the dsp with exposed cabling in the centre also to show off the leads and orange techflexed cables

then the cherry on top will be the biggest ass zapco over the lot (the boot is 20” deep of not a touch more), and a 15 fitted with 3” to spare to the front edge of the boot... loadsa room (he says!!)

trim will be orange under the dsp (and maybe in recessed rings under the subs) so the helix ultra pops, and black vinyl or charcoal (or black) alcantara over the rest of the panels... the big zapco might end up floating on edge lit perspex just yet

So it was decided a spare wheel should make way for some natural IB bass... I clamped the metal frame to the wheel well with M6 80mm fasteners and added some polyurethane sealant in between which will give a very solid fixing and along with the bolts will likely be stronger than welding to 0.8mm steel

i then put repair washers above the wood and then an m6 normal nut, the mesh was then made to fit over the nuts and then the 12mm moisture guard was made to fit over the m6 bolts, then the birch ply next layer fits on and clamps the moisture guard and mesh down to around 6mm, should be good enough to stop rattles

I have decided to fit the lithium battery over to the right of the boot and the twin 12” subs over to the passenger side, the dsp will be atop the lithium bank and the fusing down the back, the hybrid mono may be above the dsp ultra but it will become clear once I start placing items in various places

Then I started the next layer up that then clamps with the same bolts that come through the floor with repair washers and a set of smaller washers for the rear most thinner section... the plate then has a tube that rises up and then will have a small ‘enclosure’ to house the inverted subs which have very pretty copper coloured back sides... or maybe one inverted and one the right way up so you can see nearly all of the zapco 150.6ap across the back of the boot

that’s the plan in my head anyway... with orange and black trimmings for good measure 😎

So more on the enclosure for the subs... and a couple of mock ups of the amp angle... the plan is now middle grey alcantara behind the dsp and amps to contrast the orange techflex of the speaker cables and front to rear/digital rcas, plus the silver dsp to amp cables... then either black vinyl or maybe black alcantara on the top layer of trim with edge lit perspex high lights lit with bright white leds to make the orange and silver pop

The more I see, the more I would love to hear the end product.

I still think you are a madman for cutting through your floor but I see now the protection you mentioned months back.

With all this work, it's shaping up to look great and sound even better. Insanely awesome.

A few more as it progresses... please ignore the messy wiring under the seat side board, I am reusing existing wiring so it is too long or very short at times... it will all be redone with perfect length cables and made pristine!
