Where did you get that color techflex? I tried to find turquoise for a previous install, and could only locate blue, or green
    Are you not entertained?!?!

Ah ha! I asked them if that green was more of a bluish color, but the seller told me no, it was more green in their opinion. Dang, knew I should have tried it out!

That's a wonderful choice my friend. Really like how cleanly done your other wires are too.

Those Satori look so gorgeous, can't wait to read your thoughts of them once installed.

They are installed They sound rather nice, not massively different to the 1/3 of the price mfc17 if I’m honest, a lot nicer made and more of an open basket design so very small differences

i will say the green is a little bit lighter in pics, perhaps due to the lighting in the workshop at work

the red and blue rcas and the green coax cable are all for a car I’m installing for the upcoming euro finals in Salzburg (I got an invite for my new car, but turned it down in favour of doing the car these leads are for... more pics to follow)

    Re: Sexual intercorsa...

So this weekend I have given my mate a hand installing his system in his new car which will be in master oem in EMMA competition and have some ib subs also

I have also spent some time with the seats woodwork as the owner couldn’t get over as it’s Valentine’s Day weekend for him and the missus...

sp I cut the Perspex out for its next layer and also a couple of small windows that will be glazed with small pieces of 4mm float glass as they are less than 90mm across, they will show the rcas and also the power and speaker cables in all there techflex’d glory

i also had a play with some red 120led/meter led strip around the edge of the Perspex...

    Re: Sexual intercorsa...

So a bit of progress on mine...

front sub box beginnings... it will be a sb acoustics shallow subwoofer as a beginning point, with other options should it sound bad...

It started out with a flat piece of 15mm birch, due to the bracing that will mean no panels bigger than 300mm square I chose this over 18mm, so I began by working out the rough sizes for the sheet to come to the back of the tube as I sit and look at it, this gives 8 points spaced at roughly 15cm to fix the very sound structure of birch down to the tube and also there are three wood screws which fix into the top of the air duct piece of 18mm (I also lined the underside of this base sheet with closed cell foam for working out the height as it will be added after to prevent any rattles or resonances and needs to be allowed for... or I may deaden it, but I worry about heat getting to the deadener and it squishing out, the tube is 1.5mm wall I’d guess and doesn’t resonate a deal due to its welded/bolted in structure... so foam for now )

I cut the base sheet just inside the raised little end caps, and then cut another piece of 15mm which will be foaming glued and screwed onto the end

i also cut out the fan exit for the screen demister, this will be built into the middle of the box and be covered with mesh I think, then cut out of the grill piece for the sub so I don’t get a build up of dust on grill cloth if I chose to fit a piece over the sub

once I was happy I duly inserted all 11 screws which makes it a solid part of the interior, now the job begins of working out heights, spacings and which parts of the dash enclosure will be sub and which will be stolen for the satoris at each end as I need some extra on the drivers side due to the clocks getting in the way (how rude!)

ive also allowed for the subwoofer to be sat on a gentle angle forwards so it is loaded a little more by the window (this also allows for a magnet of a different sub if modifications need to be tended to (although I’d then need to cannibalise the glove box to gain more space (sub still in the centre of the dash though )

    Re: Sexual intercorsa...

A few more pics, there are three lugs for want of a better description on the bulkhead, these have been allowed for at the backside so I’ve had to cap those with various bits of timber, and also the 10” wide cutout for the air inlet for the heater blower motor

oddly they are all at different heights vs the horizontal beam that sits across the chassis that the dash mounts to as it’s main structure...

so my first task was to work out how to make the step up and into the lower corner of the windscreen, turns out it’s 45mm all the way across the bad of the screen, I cut a piece of 15mm that was the correct height and kerfed it for the two bends approx 10-12” in, three cuts at 13mm into the 15mm ply was good, this was then bent and attached via screws and foaming glue

next up was make the piece that then protruded into the base of the screen, I wanted it to tuck into the screen so the finished piece could be trimmed and you wouldn’t see bulkhead at any point... basically I had to cut a shallow boomerang which was anywhere from 20mm at either end to 40mm to 70mm in the centre, I over cut this by 20mm deep all round so I could adjust if needed a little further under the screen... as it was the piece fitted first time, I also added a small 6mm deep chamfer and so I added a few dabs of ca glue to fix it so I could then take it to the bench and drill three holes, one in the centre and one at each end, i screwed it down and I then trimmed the inside edge with a flush trim bit and added more holes 7.5mm into it to secure it better to the 15mm strip

i then made up the caps for the previously mentioned three locators and also for the air inlet, these were made from various pieces of ply in various orientations and again foaming wood glued down

I then started cutting and making the vent for the screen, don’t think I got any pics of it...

the hole from the heater box is 200mm x 65mm, I have then made it go up, taper and change shape to a 400mm x 35mm slot which will then get flush trimmed through the top of the centre section/sub baffle, anyway enough for now, more pics to follow tomorrow and Saturday, plus the seat is getting dropped off so I can setup the time alignment, phase and also setup the eq for the euros and attend to a few little bits through the week, a couple of door resonances and maybe a few more trick bits of lighting in the boot build for the cabling

my aim is 17-18litres, I figure the shallow sb acoustics 26cm sub will take around 2l so I’ve been aiming for approx 20litres which currently I am on target for, and also 7l each side for the satoris, I have allowed for a section behind the clocks so I can make a T shaped enclosure from the screen and extending across behind the clocks and also down the dash a little bit, kinda like a Tetris piece 3l behind the clocks, 2l into the screen corner and then a litre or two at the front corner and down the dash also

the passenger side enclosure will be a little different, there is space above the glove box, so it should go down 10cm below the flat board level, and then be approx 35cm wide, by 23cm tall and 10cm deep... I’ve roughly made both sides similar, the aim will be as per the previous test enclosures
