Nice
They arranged an EMMA event over here in Norway last week, but it was only announced 5 days in advance. So the turnout was pretty much one competititor in the respective class they attended. Still, first event since 2019 though.

A few bits done, applied some filler and paint to the iPad dash, it turned out ok I guess… a few flaws that will be addressed
done some terminal protection that was required for the upcoming show, zapco now has a flame polished piece of acrylic that sits over the power and speaker terminals, the dsp plug has a wrap or two of tesa tape which is enough to get the tick in the box
the dsp has now shrunk to a dsp.3 from the ultra for budget reasons, complete with an acrylic plinth to cover the larger dsps mounting holes, it’s trimmed in charcoal grey Milano the same as the rest of the boot, and the source for competition will be an iPod touch 32gb 7th gen to the topping d10s then to the rear with optical to the dsp.3, needs a few cable clips and ties to secure the cables between the dsp and amplifier
Very clean work!
Since you've tried different processors in the same system, do you experience any benefits in sound quality with the ultra over the dsp.3? With setup being the same?
I wouldn’t want to make a 100% definitive statement, but I think the ultra has a small edge in detail although staging and imaging seems ‘different’ also, but I wouldn’t want to trust it without an a/b comparison to swap between the two, in reality the difference is very small I think if anything
More progress!
Showing a bit of cable attention to detail, more techflex added, 50mm cable run to the zapco and 25mm with techflex to the mono also, a few neatening parts to the small fuse box and black Milano suede behind the fuse boxes
also a few pics of labels behind panels for the album for the show
Sometimes I venture out from my Corsa sq cave and help others out…
2 days on an e92 with a semi capable helper does wonders
match underseats and components, dsp.3, zapco st4sq bridged (180ish a corner) on the underseats, and a mosconi 4/10 on the mids and tweeters (direct dsp in theory 120wrms at full steam, but likely 50 and 20watts, I’m keeping the mosconi and eventually she will have a drop dead gorgeous boot build with a spot of led lighting and likely two st4sq zapcos left and right with a pdx in the middle, but for last Friday/Saturday the aim was get it playing and tune it in a weeks time once the drivers have been run in somewhat so I can get it nice as it’s her first sq event… aiming for a top three I reckon as I can still see massive improvements available!
then an alpine pdx m6 on a clarus 10” in a cubic ft roughly
it was a quick install for an sq event in ten days time, she’s had a rough time of late so I’ve collected my spare kit up and she is getting a deal over a fair few months for paying for the kit and the install was courtesy cos she’s a good egg!
i currently have the sub in a cut down box from my Dayton, but I salvaged some scrap wood and will knock up a stealth box in a few hrs I reckon, simple squareish shape with a trim panel made to look pretty and fit to the surrounding bodywork, trimmed in grey carpet bolted in at a few factory points also for good measure
Hey dumdum, I heard it through the grapevine, that you've had some recent success with your build on the competition circuit? Congratulations dude! It's great to see all your hard work paying off. Well deserved.
Well ‘Fanta orange corsa’ (follow it on Facebook!) did well… second place got 312 points iirc, and I got 372, so I’d say it definitely did it’s job, I’d like 380-390 before the euros if we get more shows… euros always get scored harder from experienced guys!
the four day bmw install came second… 270 points vs 279… with no eq on it, just levels and timing! Easy marks to pick back up… one of the other guys from the scene has been building the first place car for months so to say I am happy with her bmw is an understatement, very good prospects for that one…
