Thread: Port bracing question

    Re: Port bracing question

It would be significantly more efficient if you made it like this and put the driver centrally between the side of the enclosure and the side of the port, so to the left a little as you look at the pic (excuse the crap pic, iPhones aren’t made for photo editing

Would a top-of-front , or directly above (or below) speaker be desirable ? Heat rises , if mounting sub beneath vent/port and snake port along top of enclosure , to aid in cooling !

So the flared port option seems popular.
    Like this, right?

Measure with mics, mark with chalk, cut with torch, grind to fit, sand to finish, paint to match.
Updated Justin tuning sheet (Justin and Erica tuning companion for SMAART and REW)
    Do it for them.

    Re: Port bracing question

Justin I know you are aware of this but just to be clear the flared port has to have clearance from obstructions. I actually run mine off the side of the box because the port is too long to run it on the front of the box. You could also use a 90 degree bend but that negates the purpose.

    Negates the purpose of what?

    Re: Port bracing question

Why fold it 180° when you can do a simple 90° turn? Less losses. Less troubles.

If PE still has the clearance 3" flared port for $4, it's the best bang for the buck, as it is a replica of the JBL Slipstream port, which has a type of elliptical profile, arguably the best shape one can use.

The one I drew was clear end-to-end, air can pass right through no problem.

Oh come on, trying to have a little fun!

It's a sincere question. I am genuinely confused by your statement and curious what you mean.
