Anyone know of a universal steering wheel remote that can work with a Kenwood DDX9905s? My steering wheel does not have OEM controls so I'm looking for something I can clamp to the wheel and use.

My SUV doesn't have steering wheel controls either & I have a DDX9903s.
The good news is that I have found that Kenwood hasn't changed out their remotes in over 20 years.
The bad news is that I have found that Kenwood hasn't changed out their remotes in over 20 years.
So you either get a wired remote that plugs into the back of the head unit or an optical remote that has to be in direct sight of the headunit.
These are three of the optical remotes that I have tried so far. They all work but, not when the steering wheel is turned.
KCA-R7
RC700A
RC-410
P.S. I want to try this remote but, drink holders in my SUV are in short supply. So I haven't found a good place to mount it yet. So I don't know if it will work or not but, I don't see why not.

Thanks for the info.
I'm trying to make use of the integrated steering wheel controls of the Kenwood instead of an IR function. I believe the Kenwood only works with the Maestro SW for programming steering wheel controls? I may be able to use a universal RF steering wheel control such as the KKMoon.

Anyone have experience with this KKMoon and if Maestro SW supports it? As far as I can see, Maestro software only lists setup by car make and model so I can't tell if it would work with an aftermarket option.
The maestro software should be pretty easy to emulate. There are several steering wheel controls that simply supply a different resistance for each button press, the trick will be finding the car/resistance values to use.
JRWalte did you come up with remote for us?
Not yet. iDatalink did say I can create a custom profile and would need to identify all the buttons but believed it could work. Nothing definitive and I'd have to test it.

If I get around to trying this it wouldn't be until Christmas. I got other new toys to work on for now. New TV, a DIY speaker kit to build new floor standing speakers and setting up a Dolby Atmos 5.1.4. Got my hands full and steering wheel control not at the top of my list
