    The Mmats HIFI6150d. I am absolutely over the moon with this little upgrade. What a fantastic amp and company to deal with. They overnighted me the amplifier and I just finished putting it in the truck. My first impressions have blown me away. Although I have only put a little time into re-tuning my vehicle, I am just floored by the sound being produced.

    I have this installed in the cab of a truck too and have not noticed the fan noise. Its much quieter than my S1+ monoblock fan. Plus I have them in an enclosed trough with some clever venting to help minimize any unwanted airflow sounds. All in all, I can't say enough good things about my Mmats experience so far. I look forward to replacing that S1+ with something from the Mmats lineup, as I am now a huge fan of the brand!

    I will try to post some installed pics when I get a chance this weekend. Cheers!

    Sweet, glad you are happy with your choice! What was your previous amp?

    It was a Crescendo S6. The match to my S1+. It never worked right, out of the box. Made noise and I couldn't get a proper voltage reading on 2 channels. So after a month of convincing Crescendo it wasn't me, they finally refunded the purchase.

    Needless to say, it's been a welcomed upgrade.

    Nice, another very happy MMats fan. I’m hoping to get to experience one some day but not anytime soon.

    My concern with the Mmats amps are the speaker connectors. They appear in pictures to be 16ga plugs like found on the inputs of my Helix. What gauge wire fits in them?

    For the 6150 and 4250; you can get a 14awg wire in there... but not bigger.

    On their mono sub amps; I believe the connector fits up to 8awg speaker wire.

    This is probably my biggest pet peeve so far. Certainly not a deal breaker, but yes, all the wire terminals could be bigger. I couldn't actually use a 4 gauge wire ferrule in the power and ground terminals either. I had to just insert the bare wire.

    I realize this is kinda old... but I was mistaken on my previous post;
    On the 6150 and 4250; you can fit a 12awg. in the speaker terminals.

    Also I would think if 12 awg or even 14 awg wire is way more than big enough to carry 250 watts of power at 4 Ohms, especially considering the shorter runs of wire one might have in the automotive environment compared to some home audio setups which can require much longer runs.
