    I've seen several installers use acrylic... Bing, Nick, etc... but not sure why. I'll ask Steve.

    I think he just likes working with the stuff. It has a nice strength to weight ratio, and it machines really nice.

    I imagine there is virtually no dust particles either in the air to breathe, it's durable, virtually weatherproof, and super clean looking when machined.
    Are you not entertained?!?!

    I used it because I made two separate pieces that I then wanted to glue/bond together. Using an acrylic cement, it "welded" the two pieces together making for a super strong bond. HDPE doesn't like to be glued to anything.

    So true! I had to attach my speaker baffle pieces together with screws.
