    More of a pre-tuning question, Is the polarity test tone safe to play without the crossover set?

    Is it a click sound that repeats around once a second? Should be safe unless you play it louder than you can snap your fingers when you're in a foreign country trying to get someone's attention but you're actually just being a jerk.
    Measure with mics, mark with chalk, cut with torch, grind to fit, sand to finish, paint to match.

    I agree, that would have been a better question to start with. Reading through some guides, I got the impression that some people use the test tone prior to setting crossover. I don't feel comfortable doing that, I assume its a full range signal, so I thought I would throw it out here for some opinions.

    if you mean actual sine waves when you say test tone, you shouldnt even have your speakers connected when playing those

    It is a pulsing tone that when you use a sensor the sensor lights up Red Red Red Green or Green Green Green Red.
