Is there a budget? And the amp powering this proposed subwoofer setup? I'll work on WinISD for some general idears.

I'm trying to keep it reasonable, if that makes sense. A pair of 12TW3 have been recommended, but I don't think that cost is reasonable at this point.

The amplifier is an Arc XDi 1100.1 - 350 at 4 ohms, 600 at 2 ohms, and 1100 at 1 ohm.
    Are you not entertained?!?!

    Re: Subwoofer Recommendation/Discussion

Wish I could match brands because of some weird OCD about that - the rest of the speakers are Audiofrog, but those GS12D4 subwoofers on Clearance sale from their website are just too tall I believe.

Did have this theory though, mostly from my ripole resarch, about mounting the motor outside the enclosure. Did receive a confirmation that it should work. Basically, just cut a circle the size of the subwoofer motor into the rear enclosure wall, drop the sub in with the motor pushing outwards, and make sure it seals up perfectly. This still allows the subwoofer to, "see" the internal volume, but allows a little more room for a regular frame subwoofer with better excursion.

The problem with this truck though, is there is 8.75" towards the front of the rear seat, but it slopes down to just over 7" near the back cab wall, so a 7.75" total height subwoofer (GS12D4) doesn't quite work.

    Re: Subwoofer Recommendation/Discussion

12's definitely won't work, at least not in this location.

Not sure if this would apply to the AF's, but mounting subwoofers magnet-side out is fine. It would make good use of space that otherwise can't be used near the center there. Just have to make sure the sub is as quiet facing that way as it is normally. Some subs have noisy backends.

As much as I'd like to suggest putting Frogs in it, I don't think he has an application that meets your needs here. GS690 is like the closest thing, but really doesn't hit the target or anywhere close.

Should probably model Alpine, Dayton, Gladen, or maybe SB Acoustics?

Are you good with fiberglassing that backside there to get the most out of that airspace?

I would be willing to learn fiberglass if it would make this install on the level it needs to be.

Ironically, there are four GS690 sitting at the house, but those are for the doors

Actually, by motor out, I mean, the motor actually on the outside, with the basket and everything else still inside. If you can picture a sealed enclosure, but the motor pushes through the back enclosure wall like this ripole setup:

Fox box for a 2019 ram available?

i’ve heard a couple trucks with a 2.x cu ft fox box and two c12xls upfiring, sounded great.

OK, Ripole research was fun, but it seems to have goals that counter a typical one in a car. Namely, being able to pressurize the cabin. That said, with zero experience and 20 minutes reading into it, I can only say "verrrrry interesting".

The SD3-10 works awesome in a .97 cu ft ported enclosure tuned to 31 Hz. It has nice accurate deep bass in my truck and the semi shallow nature of the subwoofer works well for shallow spaces. This box fits nicely behind the seats of my regular cab F150.
