I've been researching 3D printers for quite a while now, and last week I finally broke down and ordered the Prusa i3 MK3S kit. If I had to do it over, I'd pay the extra $250 to get the fully-assembled unit, cuz putting this bish together was a pain in the donkey.

Full disclosure, it did come with one of the most well-thought out color manuals that I've ever seen, but the sheer tedium of having to assemble EVERYFREAKINGTHING was mind-numbing.
