    2011 Dodge Charger

The car came with the Alpine 'premium' 7.1 surround system with 8.4" touchscreen navigation and bluetooth. It sounded pretty good. In fact, it was probably the best factory system I've heard. All it really needed was time alignment and more eq capability.

I chopped the factory harness at the amp to get signal to a processor, and amplified signal back into the factory speaker wires. These are molex type connectors from Radio Shack.

Blue and orange wires are signal from the factory amp. Red and black wires are output from aftermarket amps. I tapped the dash speaker and front door outputs here. I grabbed the sub signal in the trunk, using the same type of connector.

Wow, that's awesome. I heard this in person a few months ago when he passed thru Birmingham. The imaging and overall tone was outstanding.

On to the trunk. Amps are Pioneer class D. A 4ch for the midbass, another 4ch for the dash speakers, and a mono for the sub. The sub is a Sundown SD1V2 in 1.15 cubic feet, ported. Tuned to 33hz, IIRC. Originally, I was going to put the Bitone on the outside, but decided to make another divider, and put it on the inside.

    Doors and dash.

bynines replaced with Exodus neo 6.5's

First, I tried some Kicker mids on the left and right, with a Dayton large format tweeter in the center. I have since tried Vifa xt25's on the left and right, with the Dayton. Now running H-Audio Trinities and the Dayton tweeter.

Thanks, Al. I think it was setup as shown in the pics, then. It might be a little better now.

Nice use of trunk space! Interested to see how your dash experiments turn out.

Thanks, Dennis. The downside to that is it ALL has to come apart to get any of the amps or the processor out.
