So I went to the wu-tang clan...

Last Tuesday I went to a Wu-tang concert, the pre show were some local rappers... Pretty good shit, good sound..
. Until the clan came on stage.... Damn... Worst audio engineering ever!!!! Constant feedback, mics too much up or too low.. The show lasted about 2hours and about 30 minutes before the end some guys

started to move the stage monitors a couple of feet back... A bit improvement but still not like it should sound....

Anybody ever experienced anything like this?

not my vid.. but it's pretty obvious on the beginning..

I have, during a Santana concert. It was destroying the whole venue for me. To make it even worse, the two cover bands before Santana came up were the worst live players I've ever encountered. Off-key singing, lousy guitar players and off-beat drummers (how uncool is that).

I've this happen at the Scorpions farewell tour it took the sound guys about half way into the show to get the highs under control and smooth outs the mids. I've also have a shitty opening act experience in the same vein as n_olympios. The opening act on the Van Halen Reunion tour (at the United Center) was some awful reggae pop fusion band, that couldn't sing or play worth a shit. Also when I'm coming to see Van Halen I'm not looking to hear an AM friendly reggae version of Brown Eyed Girl.

The sound engineer should be kicked in the nuts repeatedly.

Knowing how much that hurts (I did martial arts back in the day), it sounds a bit... radical.

Several years back, a buddy and I were pumped to hear pat travers was coming to town. We scored tickets and discussed how cool it was gonna be for weeks. Got there the night of, and the opening band was good, so was the sound.......but when pat took the stage the sound Guy cranked it, over loading everything. There was so much squelch in the midrange you couldn't make out the vocals, guitar leads, anything........totally ruined the show my friend and I had hyped between ourselves for so long.......I was severely disappointed, and left with a headache.
